Youth and water
ONE DROP OUR PARTNER IN THE YOUTH WATER PROJECT

Philippe and Nan-b de Gaspé Beaubien of the de Gaspé Beaubien Foundation wanted to pass on certain values—sharing, social consciousness, and community involvement—to their grandchildren. To begin with, these young people were asked to come up with a project that would keep them motivated and involved for the next five years. Once they had clearly understood their roles and their mission, the choice was unanimous: everyone wanted to donate their time and money to work on water issues. The initial idea was to create an online awareness-raising game aimed at young people like themselves.
The first step was to make a list of people and organizations to partner up with. ONE DROP - an initiative of Guy Laliberté, Founder of Cirque du Soleil®, was an obvious choice. From the very first meetings, we could tell we had chemistry and were of like minds. It was clear that we were approaching the issue from a similar starting point. ONE DROP had long wanted to add an online component to AQUA, its awareness raising program. This would allow ONE DROP to develop more up-to-date and in-depth awareness-raising and mobilization activities and make them instantly accessible to an audience of thousands.
